Notes to the Rules

Constitution & Rules - Item 2. Objects: The objects of the Society shall be the promotion of research into and the modelling of the Broad Gauge (7' 01/4") by:

Rule 2: Plain text messages allow members with any type of equipment to participate. Not everyone uses PC's with Windows and the latest e-mail software.

Rule 3: Attachments run the risk of containing viruses or could be in a format that other members cannot read. They could cause large phone bills, or problems with employers where members access their e-mail at work. Graphics files and documents may be uploaded to the eGroups vault or the senders web site, and a link to the site inserted in the message. The sender should ensure files are virus free.

Rule 4: Over time we will build an archive of useful information, but it is no use if it cannot be properly filed.

Rule 5: Many group members are busy people who receive a lot of e-mail, and an unnecessarily long message may put people off reading or replying to it.
