- Research Sources - Researchers into the broad gauge era are at a disadvantage compared to those interested in more modern times - photography was in its infancy; no picture postcards; few contemporary books; no surviving first hand memories and much of the infrastructure has been changed or swept away. Because of this it is necessary to carry out researches from a variety of record offices and libraries. This list is not exhaustive but should be a good start for your searches.
